I-RESTART
FEDERALIMENTARE

Il progetto I-RESTART “Inclusive REskilling and upskilling Toward competitive Agrifood and veterinary sector:I-RESTART (Inclusive REskilling and upskilling Toward a Competitive Agrifood and Veterinary Sector: European Agenda Strategy) aims to enhance and update the knowledge and skills of professionals working in the agrifood and veterinary sectors.

To achieve these objectives, I-RESTART promotes the transfer of cross-sectoral and intergenerational skills through the adoption of an innovative micro-credentials methodology, providing inclusive, flexible, and engaging learning pathways supported by tutors. At the same time, the project opens the agrifood and veterinary ecosystem to workers from other sectors, encouraging broader skills development and knowledge exchange.

Consortium

The consortium is composed of 27 partners, including:

  • 10 Education and Training Providers: UNITO, WU, AU, AERES, UNITE, UHOH, UMU, INFOR, CTAEX, and AKMI.
  • 3 Education and Training Networks: ISEKI, EFVET, and ACEEU.
  • 13 Agrifood Industry Representatives: CONFAGRICOLTURA, COPA-COGECA, FDE, EIT Food, LVA, ANIA, FIAB, GZS, SEVT, SCOOP, FEDERALIMENTARE, CLITRAVI, and CONFAGRI-PT.
  • 1 European Veterinary Board: EBVS.

Building on the achievements of the FIELDS Blueprint for Agriculture and Forestry, the project will provide tools to address future skills challenges by offering curricula aligned with 10 occupational profiles (EQF levels 4, 5, and 6), comprising a total of 3,200 hours of training and 3,600 hours of internships.

Overall, 16 trainers and 120 learners will benefit from pilot training programmes implemented across eight countries. In addition, 40 students will complete work-based learning programmes that include advanced entrepreneurship training and involve 32 teachers and trainers.

The main areas of focus include:

  • Digital technologies
  • One Health
  • Bioeconomy and sustainability
  • Business and entrepreneurship
  • Soft skills
  • Emerging trends

The training programme consists of four modules and is available in seven languages through the project’s online learning platform.

Expected Impact

The 27 partners, representing 11 countries, will identify priority skills needs and gaps, develop occupational profiles and detailed curricula, and design both a European strategy and eight national roadmaps tailored to the specific needs of participating countries.

At the same time, the project will ensure compliance with European quality standards, including ESCO and EQAVET, to facilitate learner mobility across Europe.

A strong connection will also be established with the Pact for Skills initiative, enabling the sharing of project content and results among Pact signatories and contributing to a broader European upskilling and reskilling ecosystem.
