WASTELESS – “Waste quantification solutions to limit environmental stress”, funded under the Horizon
programme, aimed to develop tools and procedures for measuring and monitoring food loss and waste
(FLW), thereby contributing to their reduction by 20%. The project, started in 2023 and ended in May 2026, addressed the food supply chain by providing stakeholders with tools to measure data on food losses and waste. The consortium, composed of 16 partners (including Federalimentare) and 12 affiliated entities from 14 European and non-European countries, implemented tools supporting not only the reduction but also the reuse of food by-products, through five case studies focusing on specific food categories such as fruits and vegetables, fruit juices, processed meat, dairy products, and cereals.
