LIFE FOODPRINT
Development of an integrated strategy for reducing the carbon footprint in the food industry sector
Obiettivi:
1. Promuovere e diffondere un software tool innovativo che calcoli il carbon footprint (CF) food nell’industria dei prodotti dolciari e pasticceria e della pasta lungo la loro filiera al fine di aumentarne la competitività.
2. Sviluppare tale software considerando tutte i parametri del CF connessi alle due filiere (consumo energia, acqua and management dello smaltimento delle acque, logistica). In particolare un focus sulla quantificazione il peso di ciascun parametro sul calcolo totale del CF. Si analizzeranno un totale di 6 imprese agroalimentari.
3. Implementare a livello dimostrativo in una impresa del settore pasticceria e dolci ed una della pasta il software sviluppato che deriva dalle analisi e dai calcoli condotti
4. Aiutare queste due imprese in Grecia e in Italia ad introdurre sul mercato con successo i due prodotti che hanno effettivamente ridotto il CF e proporre un esempio di etichetta che informi circa I livelli di CO2.
5. Sviluppare strategia nazionale riguardo alla riduzione di emissioni GHG nelle due imprese
6. Promuovere e diffondere il progetto, le attività e I risultati finali a tutti gli stakeholders tramite azioni di comunicazione
La durata progettuale è di 36 mesi.

- Literature review on the state-of-the-art methods and techniques used worldwide on reducing the carbon footprint in the whole food supply chain
- Report on the evaluation of the current environmental and socioeconomic impact regarding food industry of Italy and Greece
- Report on the Mapping of CO2 equivalent emission sources of pastry and flour related Products
- Report on the procedure followed and the data that has been collected from each stage of the chain supply
- Literature review on the state-of-the-art methods and techniques used worldwide on reducing the carbon footprint in the whole food supply chain
- Report on the evaluation of the current environmental and socioeconomic impact regarding food industry of Italy and Greece
- Report on the Mapping of CO2 equivalent emission sources of pastry and flour related Products
- Report on the procedure followed and the data that has been collected from each stage of the chain supply
- Report on the results of the demonstration phase in the 6 companies selected
- Report on the carbon footprint offsetting programs and measures for the participating food industries and their associated products
- Report on the evaluation of the results of the demonstration action of the MCA tool
- Plan monitoring the implementation of the proposed strategy in Greece and Italy
- Report presenting the national (Greek & Italy) CO2 offsetting plans in the food industry sector
